Shipping out of TPMD

All metal that is withdrawn from the depository ships within 2 business days of withdrawal request via UPS Next Day Air Shipping, fully insured. We do not charge any withdrawal or handling fees. Shipping rates are discounted using TPMD’s corporate rates and are made available upon request.

If you are self-shipping your metal to TPMD, please include written documentation with your name, TPMD account number, and an itemized list of your metal deposit inside of the box. All inbound packages are opened under camera.

NOTE: Please do not include our full business name or the words “Precious Metals” anywhere on the outside of packages being sent to TPMD.

Shipping Directly From a Metals Dealer for a Personal Account

When purchasing metal from a precious metals dealer, you may choose to have your order shipped directly to TPMD for storage. This is a tax-free transaction because the state of Texas is a tax-free jurisdiction for precious metals.

Simply update your shipping information with the precious metals dealer to include the following:

The letters “FBO” before your name
Your TPMD Account Number
“Bedrock Fabrication” as the company name
The TPMD Shipping Address

Shipping An IRA Order to TPMD

Shipping IRA precious metals to the Texas Precious Metals Depository is very similar to the process for shipping an order directly from a dealer for a personal depository account.

Please include the following as your billing info:

Your IRA Custodian’s Business Name, then “as Custodians of”
The letters “FBO” then your name and IRA Account Number
Your IRA Custodian’s Billing Address

Packing Instructions:

Please take the following steps when preparing your shipment to us:

Remove all references to gold and silver bullion on the exterior of the package. This includes your business name (if applicable) and product names and descriptions. This is an effective theft prevention measure.

Double box using cardboard boxes. Place one box inside of another. This will help protect your shipment should the outer box fail.

Pack your items tightly with solid materials like foam, newspaper or bubble wrap. Packing material such as peanuts easily compress leaving room for items to shift and cause the packing to fail.

Secure the lids of all coin tubes by placing a strip of tape across the lids to ensure that they do not come loose during shipping.

Tape all box seams with heavy duty strapping tape. The most likely place for packaging to fail is at the seams. Use a good quality tape containing nylon fibers or similar durable tape and ensure all seams are taped securely.

For heavy packages (over 30lbs), reinforce the box by taping over the entire surface with strapping or brown tape.

Use clear tape over your shipping label. Clear taping the shipping label reduces the chances that the label is damaged or marred. Damaged labels lead to delayed shipments.
